Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has reaffirmed the stability of the current coalition government, asserting that it will serve the full term of the House of Representatives (HoR). Speaking at the inauguration of the seventh national general convention of the Tamang National Liberation Front in Kathmandu on Saturday, PM Prachanda emphasized the government's resilience and his party's crucial role in maintaining it.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the Maoist Centre's history, contributions to political movements, and current needs, coupled with their seat numbers in the HoR, ensure the government's full term. Addressing concerns about potential instability, he assured, "It is not that easy to replace us. We have a magical number in parliament. That magic will manage the government by different tricks."

PM Prachanda also reiterated the Maoist Centre's commitment to anti-corruption measures, social justice, and national prosperity. He mentioned that the party is preparing for a general convention aimed at generating new ideas and initiatives. "We will synthesize new ideology and will take ahead the party with new initiative and ideology. The general convention shall guide us to take the country to the new era of good governance and prosperity by strengthening the republic," he stated.

Reflecting on the party's historical contributions, he acknowledged the significant roles played by the Newar and Tamang communities in the Kathmandu Valley during the People's War. He promised to rejuvenate the party's ethnic fronts, which had become less active following the promulgation of the constitution, to address the demands and issues of oppressed ethnic communities.

CPN (Maoist Centre) Vice Chairman Agni Prasad Sapkota also addressed the event, commending the Tamang community for their contributions to Nepal's political, economic, and social sectors, particularly during the People's War. He mentioned ongoing efforts to unify left parties and restructure the communist movement in the country.

Finance Minister and Assistant General Secretary of the Maoist Centre, Barshaman Pun, emphasized the need for ethnic, linguistic, and cultural diversity to be reflected in all state apparatus, given the country's diverse makeup. Lawmaker Mina Tamang stressed that ethnic and class-based liberation is achievable if the issues raised by the Maoist Centre during the People's War are implemented.

Surya Man Dong, Chairman of the general convention organizing committee and HoR Member, highlighted the significant contributions of the Tamang community to the country's political changes and called for state recognition of these contributions. The two-day convention, organized by the Tamang National Liberation Front, is held under the slogan of Tamsaling Province and Socialist Revolution.

During the event, PM Prachanda, Vice Chairman Sapkota, Minister Pun, and former Speaker Onsari Ghartimagar were honored for their contributions.
